nfcify is an NFC tag app made by Rad Soft, Inc. (“we”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: there’s no account, your tags and scans stay on your phone, and the only thing we receive is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.
No account
nfcify works without signing up or signing in. We don’t ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Your tags stay on your phone
Tags you read, your scan history and the records you draft are stored on your device only. They’re never uploaded to us or anyone else. If a tag holds a Wi-Fi network, the saved scan includes its password. On iPhone, this data is part of your own iCloud or computer backup, like other app data; on Android it’s left out of backups. Deleting the app deletes it, and you can clear your scan history in the app at any time.
NFC only while you use it
On iPhone, nfcify uses NFC only after you tap to scan or write, while the system scan sheet is open. On Android, it listens for tags while nfcify is open on screen and stops when you leave the app. It never reads tags in the background.
Usage statistics
To learn which features get used and where the app fails, nfcify sends anonymous usage events: for example that a tag was read, which kinds of record were written, that a tool like Erase finished or failed, or that a setting changed. Events can include the chip type (such as “NTAG215”) and how many records a tag held. They come with device details the analytics SDK adds: the app version, the operating system and its version, the device model, language, time zone and screen size, and on Android the name of your mobile carrier.
Each install gets a random identifier so we can count how many people use a feature. It isn’t linked to you, your Apple or Google account, or your phone’s advertising identifier, and it changes if you reinstall the app.
Events never include the contents of your tags, links, text or Wi-Fi details, tag UIDs or serial numbers, passwords, or anything you type. We don’t keep your IP address and don’t work out your location.
The events are processed for us by PostHog, Inc. in the United States (posthog.com/privacy). We don’t sell them, share them with advertisers or use them to track you across other apps or websites.
You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage. When it’s off, nothing is sent, not even the fact that you turned it off. Development builds never send events.
No ads and no tracking
nfcify has no ads and no advertising or tracking SDKs. We don’t use your phone’s advertising identifier.
Settings
Your settings, like haptics and the default chip, are saved on your device and nowhere else.
Children
nfcify isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because we don’t hold any information that identifies you, there’s nothing we can look up, export or delete for a specific person. Turning off usage statistics stops new events being sent. If you have a question about your privacy, email us at hello@radsoftinc.com.
This website
This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or trackers. It remembers your light or dark choice in your browser.
If you use the contact form on the support page, we receive your name, email address, phone model and message by email, and send you a copy. We use them only to reply. The emails are sent for us by Resend, Inc. in the United States (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy).
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. If the app ever starts collecting more information, for example when optional features that need an account arrive, we’ll say so here first and in the app before it happens.
